Our base systems are now configured with processor speeds of 3.0GHz, plus we've upgraded speeds on our triple and quad core processors. The AMD configurations are now all AM3/DDR3 compatible and can be easily upgraded as faster processors come out over the next few years.

We've updated the choices for sampler software. You now have the options of using Cantabile 2.0 as a stand-alone VSTi host (64-bit version available), or Kontakt 3, or MachFive 2 as the sampler. Most sample instruments (QLSO, VSL, Sonivox, etc.) come with their own VST playback module, so if you are using one of those packages, Cantabile is all that is needed for playback on our Two-Can64.

Our Musi-Can64 is being discontinued. We are very proud of what we accomplished with the orginal Musi-Can and the Musi-Can64. However, with diminishing sales plus the discontinuation of critical parts from our vendors, we have made the reluctant decision remove the Musi-Can64 from our product offerings.

Wow! It's been a year since our last update. We've been very busy here at the labs creating all sorts of new and exciting products for you. Our Two-Can64 line has been upgraded to accept the latest low wattage processors from AMD, plus it comes standard now with DVI video out and gigabit ethernet. You can get dual core horsepower and still have whisper quiet sound levels. Our Music-Can64 line is still using using the AMD mobile chips for whisper quiet sound levels in a 1U space and we are working on bringing you even more cpu horsepower in these units.
Be sure to check back here for more news in the coming months!

Our entire line of Musi-Cans and Two-Cans have been upgraded to the new AMD Sempron64/Turion64 low wattage cpus. Both systems are now whisper quiet with no need to special order any fancy cooling circuits. The Musi-Can64 has also been expanded to allow a second hard drive.

We now have AMD Athlon64 based processors in our Two-Cans, making them Windows 64 bit ready, and 400GB drives that can bring your internal storage total to over 800GB! Additionally, we are now including user adjustable CPU fans that you can tune to your desired noise and performance levels. We've also made performance improvements to the remote control software which makes the screen response even snappier.

The Acousti-Therm software is finally done! The temperature curves have been finely adjusted for the best balance between noise and cooling levels under various temperature conditions.
December 5, 2002
The Windows NetMIDI drivers are a go! This is a major milestone. Fully automatic, there's no setup, no configuration, no adjusting of anything. You just turn on the Musi-Can and the host drivers find it. There's nothing else like it on the planet!
August 29, 2002
The server side remote control software is now performing smoothly with very low lag. The performance is quite good and easily surpasses most other remote desktop servers. There is room for a tiny bit of improvement in speed, but right now, the priority is getting those NetMIDI drivers completed.

Sunday! After months of tweaking and testing the Windows ME OS, finding out all the little performance issues that affect GigaStudio and other software synth/sampler applications, stripping out all the useless bloat code that Microsoft tacked on, digging way down into the kernel to make multitasking much smoother, and changing the hardware installation sequence, this is now a lean, mean, operating system, perfect for software musical instrument applications!

Got the new chassis sample from the manufacturer. The new mods make it so much easier to install all the parts and the small increase in depth from 12" to 13" still enables it to fit in any music rack.
October 24, 2001
Just in today, at one of our distributors -- a brand new 1U rack chassis, only 12" deep. It's exactly what we're looking for! Now we start qualifying the hardware that goes in it.
